Body parts in German

German uses the article where English says my: Mir tut der Kopf weh (my head hurts), Ich wasche mir die Hände (I wash my hands). Wehtun is the verb for anything that aches. Hair is usually plural, die Haare; das Haar is a single hair. Of these 30 words, 13 are among the 5,000 most common; the other 17 are basic words, marked with a dash.
