Days, months and seasons in German

Every day, month and season is masculine: der Montag, der Januar, der Sommer. Days take am (am Montag), months and seasons take im (im Mai, im Winter). Samstag is the usual word for Saturday; in northern and eastern Germany you will also hear Sonnabend. Of these 31 words, 30 are among the 5,000 most common; the other 1 are basic words, marked with a dash.
