Jobs in German

Most job titles have a feminine form in -in, often with an umlaut: der Lehrer, die Lehrerin; der Arzt, die Ärztin. To say what you do, leave out the article: Ich bin Lehrerin, not ich bin eine Lehrerin. Of these 30 words, 12 are among the 5,000 most common; the other 18 are basic words, marked with a dash.
