The most common German prepositions

Every preposition in the top 5,000, in frequency order, including the contractions im, am, zum and zur. Each preposition decides the case of the noun after it: aus, bei, mit, nach, seit, von and zu take the dative; durch, für, gegen, ohne and um the accusative; an, auf, hinter, in, neben, über, unter, vor and zwischen take either, depending on movement or position.
