Weather verbs go with es: es regnet, es schneit — but die Sonne scheint. Many weather adjectives end in -ig (sonnig, windig), and temperatures are given in Grad: Es sind zwanzig Grad. For how it feels to you, say mir ist kalt rather than ich bin kalt. Of these 25 words, 14 are among the 5,000 most common; the other 11 are basic words, marked with a dash.
